Red Sox game-- Happy Birthday Bryan!

Happy Birthday Bryan (ok so this post is a little late... what are you gona do? I have a hectic lifestyle!)

Okay.. So on June 3rd Bryan and I went to our first red sox game together! It is so hard getting time off from my work, that I had to request it off a few months ahead of time. I surprised him with this as one of his birthday gifts. So, I went to Bryan's house. We then took the train from Haverhill to Boston. I haven't really been on a train alone, so it was a fun experience! They actually DO wear train hats. If you ask me, it is a fashion DON'T! Anyway-- we are on the train.. we had many stops along the way. More and more people with red sox shirts began boarding. Once we were in Boston, we saw all the places we would love to go. (FYI - our next "adventure" is some museum in Boston.. they have a new baseball thing he is dying to see). I want to go to the aquarium... so maybe another summer goal as well??

Once in Boston we stopped and had to walk to the subway. Once we figured out what we were doing with some help from a few people, we found our way to our subway. We took it and ... it was a very curvy ride. We were towards the back, but the car behind us was the last car. It kept moving side to side.. I got so dizzy that I almost was sick! We FINALLY arrived there.. and had to walk a few blocks to Fenway Park. It was SOOOOOOO hot out. Literally... I was fanning myself. We found a place to buy a drink and the guy selling it was very ... obnoxious. Anyway-- I have my drink, I was cooled off.. we had to wait a bit for Fenway to open..

FINALLY it opened up! 93 degrees and we were finally in fenway park. It was during batting practice, so we went to right field and Bryan tried to catch the balls with all of the other guys. Well, I was just sitting, minding my own business when the ball comes flying at me. I am not one to reach out my hand and grab it, nonchalantly. So i freaked out and jumped out of the way. A few minutes later ANOTHER one comes flying at me. I, once again, freaked out and ran away.. The third time is the charm. After I almost was smacked in the head by one, I realized it was time for me to go wait inside while Bryan can play catch. He didn't get one, but was a little upset that after having 3 opportunities, I didn't catch one. I heard more than once, "all you needed to do was reach your hand out and grab it".

So, time to find our seats! We ask around because we cannot find it anywhere! When we asked one man, he was really excited about our seats, apparently they were good ones. Well, we had to show our tickets to the guard at the end of our walk into a private walkway. We were allowed in. We had to show them again to another guy. He brought us to our seats, set them down for us, wiped them down... and then he left. Apparently you are supposed to tip him. Ooops... I really didn't know. All he did was put my seat down and wipe it. I could easily have done that for myself, so I don't understand why he deserved a tip. I didn't ask for it. -- Typical me.. I think that I get it from my dad. (=

So, we watch the game and its AWESOME! Bryan had a blast, which is why I got the tickets. (For Free) But still-- I mean, It took effort in asking my dad for them. So we are almost at the end of the game and thennnn....

SOMEONE RAN ACROSS THE FIELD! The security guards were running after him, one jumped to grab him, he missed, the other one chased him down.. they just couldnt catch him. He dove into the sea of people and so did the security guards. He apparently got away. Coool!! It was awesome!

Leaving was TERRIBLE!!!!! I kept ssaying, "next time we are taking a limo". Tooooo many people took the subway. After 30 minutes of wating to get on, we finally did. But-- it BROKE DOWN! so we all had to get off, and get back on another one. Then we finally made it to our train stop. We took the train and got back to Bryan's house safe and sound.

It was a loooong day, but we both had a lot of fun! Maybe next year we can do it again! If we get tickets, of course....
